Being the talk-radio-nerd that I am, my kids are probably over exposed to current events, news, pop-culture, etc. because of my (mainly conservative) talk radio addiction. I usually have on some form of it in the house and car, really out of habit more than anything else. I grew up listening to 700 WLW in the mornings getting ready for school, praying for Jim Scott to read MY school on the snow delays. He is still just as much a part of our mornings as OJ.(the juice, not Simpson)
During the recent Presidential election, Jack had a teeny-tiny 5 year old grasp on what was happening. Every time he heard Obama's name, he would holler "NOOOO-BAMA" and "Gooooo Mccain!"
So after the election and out of the blue, Jack asked Steve who won "the voting." Steve told him Obama won and McCain lost.
Jack: Awwwwww, Dad. Our teams ALWAYS lose.
Steve: What do you mean, Buddy?
Jack: We ALWAYS say "Who-Dey" and "Go-Bengals" and they ALWAYS lose.
Jack: And we say "Gooooooo Reds!" and THEY always lose, too.
So apparently living in Southern Ohio and being a Republican 5 year old is depressing.
Cheer up, little guy. You have your whole life to change the world!
