September 11
September 11 is a day that will always be burned into my mind. We all know where we were and what we were doing when the news reported that a plane hit the World trade Center. Then watching the other events unfolding that morning. I remember the horrible feeling of fear watching the events in NYC, at the pentagon and the crash site in western Pennsylvania. I remember the sick feeling at the pit of my stomach for weeks whenever the TV or radio was on. And how surreal the whole event really was, almost like a sci-fi movie.
For those of us married to or otherwise related to firefighters, it was an especially hard time because it had such an impact on them. FDNY lost 343 firefighters that day. Everyone knows a firefighter's job is dangerous, but an event like this really put it into perspective, especially when some of the dead were friends and acquaintances.
We often take it for granted that they will be home safely at the end of the day, and thank God most of them do. I just wanted to post something short to remind us to remember the firefighters who lost their lives on September 11,2001 and to never forget the sacrifice they made that day as they chose to enter those buildings to help others get out, and to thank the firefighters who work every day to help keep our families and communities safe.
Thank You.

It's forever a day that changed the world. I'm with you - thank you.
Hey Mollie,
Good post. Tell your hubby THANK YOU for us!
Glad you posted this. I remember where we were on 71/75 south that day, do you? And that I was 17 weeks pregnant with Lauren. I was sure that she would be born into a world turned upside down, but it was ok. It was a strange day. I felt bad for you, especially, being so far from home. Steve was so sweet to drive all night to come get you. We're proud of him and what he does!
I was in my family room with Jude, and I had just showered. I remember calling Angel and I woke her up. Nobody knew exactly what was going on at that time.
I think you were on your way to Atlanta?
Angel was supposed to perform inbetween the World Trade Centers that afternoon.
Crazy.
your post brings tears.
