Swearing In the Fire Chief

Steve was sworn in as the Goshen Township Fire Chief a few weeks ago, but didn't officially start until today. The house is on the market, hope we get some action soon because he is commuting an hour each way until we can move.

We thought Jack would be upset about having to move again, but he already has his sights on dropping out of 1st grade and being the assistant chief, so he's thrilled! Riley was confused about the whole thing. She was very upset that Daddy is going to be a Chief. "Mommy, she said, He is a FIREMAN! Not an Indian." hahaa

There were a lot of friends and family and colleagues (past and present) there to show their support and it was a very nice ceremony. And according to Jack the best part was that his Daddy didn't talk too long because there was CAKE afterwards. Here are some photos.(taken by Mary Danemiller Community Press Journal)

As you can see, Riley is THRILLED to be a part of the festivities.

Jack pinned on his badge. I had to help. I was sfraid he'd accidentally stab his Dad. He's a wee bit clumsy/accident prone. (See previous entry!) haha
